Alberta Council of Disability Services Standard
- The accreditation standard set by the Alberta Council of Disability Services, recognized by PDD and other funding bodies.
- BalaiCare Inc. has maintained CET Level (____) with Complex Support Needs accreditation since (____).

Protection of Persons in Care Act
Legal Standard for Safety in Care
- The Protection of Persons in Care Act ensures the safety of adults in care by mandating that any suspected abuse must be reported.
- The Act has been in effect since January 1998.
- We adhere to all requirements to maintain a safe, supportive environment for our residents.
Abuse Prevention and Response Protocol
PDD Program Protection Standard
- The Abuse Prevention and Response Protocol was created to prevent and address abuse or maltreatment towards individuals supported by the PDD program.
- We implement comprehensive training and monitoring to ensure full compliance with this protocol.
- Our staff receives regular training on abuse prevention, identification, and reporting procedures.
Accommodation Standards
Supportive Living Requirements
- Supportive living facilities with four or more adults must be licensed under the Supportive Living Accommodation Licensing Act and comply with the Supportive Living Accommodation Standards.
- Additionally, Alberta Health Services governs health and safety regulations, including fire protection requirements.
- BalaiCare maintains all required licenses and regularly reviews our facilities to ensure compliance.
PDD Safety Standards
Environmental and Staff Safety Practices
- The PDD Safety Standards were introduced to ensure that adults supported by the PDD program live in safe environments and that staff follow safe practices.
- BalaiCare Inc. fully complies with all PDD Safety Standards.
- We regularly audit our practices to ensure continuous compliance and improvement.
